anyone got a rough idea what a set of gold simmons wheels would be worth to sell???

my mates got a set of gold simmons 16' mags in real good cond with resonably good tyre's that he needs to sell but we havent a clue what there worth and cant find a price anywhere. thats what they look like but there 5stud commodore wheels.

any thoughts on where to start the $$ at?,

I've never heard of simmons wheels having any value unless they are FR18s (the flavour of the month a few years back) which would go for like $3000 for a set without tyres....

16s i'm not so sure they'd be worth anything other than scrap

mate has simmonds B-45's which are 15 or 16's i think. He sold them for 400$ with tyres.. he didn't have many takers when trying to sell either so im guessing not much?

Haha yeah right, the V5s are much harder to get than the FRs and are a 3 piece wheel so you can still get rim halves to change the offset and width. I'd say they'd be worth about half again as B45s in the same size/stud pattern - bearing in mind that Torana and HQ are worth a lot more than Commodore.

I thought tempe tyres now makes simmons rims now? or they bought the castings for them. Which would make theses not so rare and there for not to expensive. They are worth what ever someone is willing to pay so bang your figure on them and see what happens.

Rims are only worth what someone will pay. They can be as rare as anything, but if no-one is buying, they are worth $0.

Although in my opinion any non Holden/HSV wheel is worth $0.

Keeping in mind almost the whole target buyers who would be interested in these rims would be 'older', and less 'technology savvy' people, so bids on ebay wouldn't mean much.....

Nah, a friend of mine recently sold a set of simmons 15" rims (looked the same as yours, from what i can see in your tiny pic), they all had bald tyres and the dish was corroded a little some guy offered him $600 for them and drove down from Sydney to Melbourne to pick them up he told us he refurbs them and fits them to boat trailers this guy reckoned he would double his money on these rims and told us if we ever are selling any more simmons wheels to give him a bell. (ill see if my mate has his number for you)
They were advertised on Ebay when this guy found them, so that would be where i would be listing them
