Seriously, why? Just wait, just like everyone else. Get the manual license sure, but wait for a V8.

just re-sit your p's test in a manual, $60 or something.
here is all the info you need on the power to weight ratio thingy and how you could be exempted and as for not having a licence i think its only a $110 fine with no deemerits dats what a mate of mine got
P plates & probationary prohibited vehicles : VicRoads
Not worth the hassle imo. I'd just wait out your probationary period then do it.
Meh just wait.
I promise I will enjoy my manual 6L enough for you until your legally allowed to get your own![]()
glad we dont have a manual auto licenses yet in SA, sounds pretty crappy. if you cant drive a manual ( apart from a disability) you shouldnt be on the road. you dont need to be an expert but i think everyone should have some sort of idea.
it really doesnt matter about the manual license because i will just go redo my test. but the thin is i am a tradie i own my own business, i have the exemption where i can drive it for work purposes, but the thing is. what about that time where im going out after work, i am not going to buy another car to be for after hours. i mean after spending 30 k on a car, it would be a waste to use it for just to and from work
All in the link provided above. No-go on the after work driving.Exemption to drive a probationary prohibited vehicle
1. Automatic Exemption
The Road Safety (Drivers) Regulations 2009, automatically exempt a probationary driver, from the probationary prohibited vehicle restrictions, who is driving the vehicle in the course of his or her employment and at his or her employer’s request or is self employed and an Australian Business Number (ABN) is in force in relation to the person's business. No exemption document is required from VicRoads in these circumstances. However, the onus is on the driver to provide evidence to the police if requested.
A person is not permitted to drive the vehicle at any time for social reasons or reasons unrelated to work. In these cases the onus is upon the driver to provide evidence to the police that his or her driving is work connected.

Seriously... You won't get caught driving a "high powered vehicle" as long as you dont do anything stupid. If you give the police a reason to pull you over, then if theyre a traffic cop, they may know what cars are high powered and what arent, but your average cop has no idea nor really cares. Theres people out there doing a lot worse then driving V8s on their Ps. The fine is 3 demerits and quote, "up to $1100 in fines" which is an absolute maximum, which would be ordered by the caught. I'm guessing it would be the standard $250, pretty much like doing 10km/h over the limit. But i know a lot of people on their Ps with turbo/V8 cars, none of which have been hassled.
In NSW its 7 points and 3mths loss of licence i found out
