    Default alt??

    hey guys, mate has a 86 4runner with no volts at the alt.

    its a denso, just wondering if its the brushes or something we can replace?

    its outta the car, wondering bout the next step. do we get an auto elec
    to look at it?

    how do you mean no volts at the alternator? if theres no voltage at the battery post on the back of the alternator, its a wiring issue.

    same voltage at alt with ign off or car running, alt not worrkin can we fix it ourselves?

    depends on the problem. could be more than the alt, being an 86 model, it will be external regulated.

    chances are it will be the brushes, you can do it yourself if your handy with some tools and a soldering iron, else take to someone that knows.
