    Nope, you could get a Supercharged 6. Not very common though. And most I think were just the 5.0L V8.

    Yeah, apart from the Super6, Series I had the 5.0L V8, Series II (June/99 onwards) had the LS1 (5.7L).

    VT/VX ls1's are easily available for 10k .. even from a rip off dealer you'd get one for 10k

    ls1 imo .. much newer, with the vn at best you'd get 1 air bag.. with the vx you'd get dual air bags, abs brakes etc much higher safety raiting.. much more features and much newer car. if you get sereis II you get a more proper irs setup..

    No brainer for me.

    With the VN you don't get an airbag at all - airbags didn't come in until the VR (first Australian built car to have a driver's airbag). Personally I'd go with a VT/VX as sweefu said over a VN...while the VN's a decent car, the VT/VX absolutely pisses all over it, especially VT Series II onwards

    ok thanks guys i am looking at a vx 5.7l tomorow 230xxxks he wants 10,500 for it. the body looks good from what ive seen what do you think?

    Youd probably pour 5k into it getting it roadworthy.

    VS SS's around what around 7ish now? They look nice, sound good and they might go fastish.

    For 10k youd probally be able to pick up a decent LS1, an exec or something. I wouldnt expect to much out of a 10k VX SS. Just remember you still have to pay for insurance, transfers etc etc. If youve got 10k to spend, your probably looking at a car for 8.

    I'd be getting whatever was the best value for money depending on my option in the way of vehicles for sale at the time I was looking. But that would only be if I was in need of a vehicle. If you have you're heart set on something in particular, and don't need a car asap, then you'll save the extra cash while you wait for the perfect one to come up for sale.

    Seriously, these types of threads are the most mornic on these forums. We cannot tell you what car to get. Go look at them yourselves and see what you prefer. The VT shape is very different and not everyone likes it and your the one who has to look at it everyday.

    Personally. I wouldnt get a VT LS1. They had a shithouse rear suspension set up which caused bad camber in a lot of cars. The early LS1's suffered from piston slap and very large oil usage and they just dont look as good as VX's.

    If your looking for a LS1 I would look at VX Series 2 Execs at minimum. You might be able to pick one of them up for 10 grand.

    Does it have to be a V8? You might be able to find a nice Super6 or something:
