Hey guys. My uncle recently bought a HZ Premier with a blown head gasket. Wont run its that bad. It's a 202 6cyl auto. My questain is, could I fit a 202 out a VK into one? We have a VK sitting out in the paddock with a warmed over 202 (cam, holley etc). It also has I think a Celica 5sp box in it. Could that be fitted to an old Prem? Not too worried bout whether I fit the 5sp to the Prem but would much rather fit a warm 202 out of a VK rather fix the head gasket in a tired old engine.
Any ideas??
Should be fine. Just might be a bit of fiddling to get the emissions sorted out.
Reaper
As above but you might have to change the sump
there are three types of people in the world , those who can count and those who can't
Also, the VK has a different exhaust setup. Much easier to change the head gasket first and see how it pans out. Just my opinion.
Why not just fix the existing engine? It'll only take about an hour to do a head gasket on a red motor....Also, Holley=no go on an HZ, If you want it legal that is.
The original engine has a bit of blow-by but yeah I pulled the head off this arvo. Heads over getting machined at the shop & then ill whack it back together & see how it goes. Decided Im just gonna buy my mates VH & put the whole running gear outta the VK into it. Cheers guys.
