Confusing VIN - Please Help Decode VX II VIN

Hi all,

I am looking at buying a car and I have been told the car is a 2001 VXII Acclaim Sedan, has the 3.8 v6, Auto, front & front side airbags, abs

I am wondering if anyone can help me decode the following VIN:

6H8VXK69A2L794000

If I understand correctly:
6H8 = Holden
VX = Model
K = Executive (does this fit with being an Acclaim???)
69 = Sedan (???)
A = 3.8 v6
2 = 2002 <--- But the car is registered as a 2001!!! Even on the securities check. I would hate to be buying a re-birthed car!

....and the rest I don't know/understand.

Any help is greatly apprecaited.

Car is a 2002 model made between Sept 01 and 20/12/01 most probably.

Thanks guys! That is awesome. I was stumped about the year thing but I am guessing from the info that it is one of the first of the 2002 models, hence the 2001 manufacturing? Anyway, it looks like it checks out so everything moving smoothly, I should be picking it up this weekend! I'll have numerous 100's of Km's to get used to and figure out rattles, knocks & bangs.

The build date should be on the build plate and will probably be with in the 3 months of late 2001 (Oct to Dec) - on the Australian cars the Compliance plate has the build day on it - this is deleted for NZ exports.
