I've just bought my new VT front brake calipers...and am in the process of buying a set of RDA Slotted 296 VT front rotors for my upgrade (as well as the adapter shims).
However, I was wanting to know what the importance of upgrading the Booster and Master Cylinder is.
How much difference and what sort of difference does it make (I'm not looking for simple silly answers, I'm looking for a more detailed answer, explaining it). Is it worth upgrading them?
Opinions?
Unless you are doing some hard yards on or off the circuit I wouldn't bother.. With the factory unit/booster. you'll feel a large noticeable difference with the brake upgrade.. If you have ABS just go easy as they are super sensitive little buggers.
Cheers,
Dave
Nah no ABS mate. So you reckon the upgrade will be fine without upgrading the Master Cylinder and Booster from the stock VS one to the VT one?
Correct me if I'm wrong.. VS single piston VT double piston.. Could be worth the upgrade but would see how it goes as it's all dependant on the application. Sozz I just don't have enough info in front of me to answer.
Cheers,
Dave
its going to be hard to answer, all comes down to your opinion of what is worth spending money on, alot of people would go spend a couple of grand on a big brake upgrade and say its worth it,
just try the setup you have, then take it from there, all comes done to your opinion and your wallet to say if its worth it or not
Well considering the master cylinder ane booster from the VT are only $40....and yes VT are twin piston and VS are single.
in one word MASSIVE the booster master upgrade is worth the money and effort......after I did the disc/caliper change the pedal was long and I wondered if they were as good as everybody was saying....I changed to the master/booster and it transformed the car and I could at last stop with confidence....for me brakes are nearly the most important item on the car and im sure the complete vt type setup I have on my vr have saved me from accident plenty of times.....not because i drive like a idiot but because other people do...I hated the feeling when you had to jump on them that you were not going to make the stopping distance...now I stop short and the bigger worry is the person behind stopping.......with the right pads the setup is the best dollar for dollar upgrade around for a vn/p/r/s for people who drive their car for fun not just for transport....especially considering the weight of the car compared to the car they were designed to fit.

I'll second that ^^ - all 3 of my VN's have the VT M/C and booster mods. The VN's pedal feel is now as good as my VZ.
