I am looking at purchasing a VL SL with a RB20DET and a 5 speed box, with all the original VL Turbo running gear. The looks and runs like a dream and on 12psi, at roughly 200rwkW. Its overall condition is extremely good with everything working and 220000kms on the clock. It also has a surge tank, oil catch can and an external wastegate.
The asking price by the seller is $6900 ono and he is willing to go to $6500.
Is this a reasonable price?
Cheers for any ideas or opinions, Mitchell.
I would say no, the RB20 is a let down. Try to find one with at least an RB25
you would be lucky to find a good conditin vl and do the conversion yourself for that price, so i would say its worth it,
but as said you only get a 2 litre, it might have 200rwkw but i bet it lacks in torque to move a commodre around
It seems like a pretty good deal but i don't see the point of having a 2litre in a commodore. You would have to rev the thing of its head to actually get it moving.
stop droolin
Good point about the 2 litre thing. Thanks.
