Hey all.. Just a quickin'
What size bolts do i need to get to put a chev 305 onto an engine stand?
Thanks in advance
The bolts will be 5/16 UNC. You will need to measure the length you require.
you're using the bellhousing mount spots yes?
well length depends on the engine stand as they can differ but i'd imagine something like a 3/8 unc (missed it by that much), and just measure the length you need in inches and go shoppings. i haven't played with chevs but i reckon thats what they would be.
*lucky for me, there was a guy who sniped me with the correct size, but i was close!! haha.

Old mate, you're right actually, i posted the wrong size. They are infact 3/8 UNC...
Thanks guys, rep to you both..
Im assuming that these are easy to get.. sorry, i dont know much on bolts/hardware and such.
Yeh, any bolt store will have 3/8 UNC bolts in pretty much any length you want. It is a very common size bolt, you'd even be able to get them from most hardware stores, but you wouldn't have a great selection of lengths.

Cheers guys, ill try to pick some up soon
I got the 3/8 bolts and they seemed a tiny bit big, as they came out the other side they were threaded, really hard to get in and one snapped as i was putting it in, only needs some vice grips to remove luckly...
I normally get all my bolts from Repco for odd jobs like that. They have bolt stands with Metric, UNC and UNF, all in colour coded packets. Also have washers and other bits and pieces. Most of them are all Champion fittings I think. They also have a thread board......but not very practical to try a block on the thread board lol.
