getting hot vs

hi just brought a vs ectoc v6 and when in the traffic in city it gets hot quick i nhave put new coolant in 50/50 change raidator with second hand one but still the same and the fan does work . can anyone help

The Vs tends to show hot on the guage when in stop start traffic. It's normal.

One thing you could check is that the system is bled properly and there isn't an air lock in it. And when you add coolant, do it via the expansion tank, not the radiator cap.

what is the expansion tank how to do it

the over flow bottle on the drivers side mounted to the strut tower. it will have 2 hoses if you follow and 1 will lead back to the radiator cap fill that up to just above the maximum line start the car let it get hot and when the thermostat opens it will start to pump the coolant around. another thing you could do to stop it getting as hot is install a colder thermostat i think the stock one is 91 degrees? and the colder one you can get somewhere between 80-87. in stop start traffic it shouldnt go any higher than just over halway but once you get moving for about a kilometer over 60 it will start to drop. dw its normal.
