Hi everyone,
Please keep an eye out for my VK LM5000 Brock. It was 'sold' by a friend who was looking after it in his shed for me while I was ill. He got himself into financial trouble and 'sold' my car to get himself out of trouble. He did not own the vehicle... It is still registered in my name and HDT recognise it as my vehicle also.
Its Alpine White, has a factory fitted sunroof, original 5 spoke rims, blue interior and was last seen in Bendigo VIC, but could be anywhere now. My Avatar pic is a pic of the Brock and I have included a couple of extra photo's as attachments.
If anyone has seen it, or knows anything about it, please contact me via this site ASAP!!
Thanks for your help. There is also a facebook page for anyone who would like more information:
Welcome to Facebook | Facebook
Thanks again folks.
Cheers lks81
That's pretty pathetic, free bump is all I can give you at this moment in time. GL.
since your friend had no right in selling the car
the contract between him and the person who bought it is void
you can recover your car no problems
unless the person who bought it didnt know it wasnt your friends car then you may run into some problems
not 100% sure anymore should have payed more attention in class lol
i hope you recover your car back
What part of Vic? Because around my area (Heidelberg) Brocks are rarely seen, so im always having a good look at them when i see them.
With great cars, comes great drivers.
Sucks. Maybe whoever has it will run a red light or get a speeding fine, it'll come to you and at least give you a hint what area it's in. Problem is, you can bet vic roads wouldn't give a crap about the situation, they'd still fine you and take points![]()
A tru friend wouldnt do that, i would b busting his knee caps 2 find out how he sold it 2 im sure he has a name or some details hope you find it mate
Oh MY GOD, Why would he think he could sell it?
Is the reg still QWS 712?
I will keep my eyes open, and also tell everyone I know.
Anyone on here that has Facebook, post it up even if it's for an hour, you never know it may just find it :-)
I'll put it up on mine now!!
Good luck mate.
Do you have a Mobile we can call?
If I'm not pulling Toyota's out of the Bush, I'm pulling 12's in the Sig :-)
That sucks real bad mate, I'l keep an eye out for it for sure, i'l do some asking around, what part of bendigo was it kept in?
I'll try to cover everyone's comments here...
Definitely not still a friend and at this stage the police will not help... I have a meeting with the Law Institute tomorrow to help convince the cops its time they did something about this.
Thanks for the bump.
I know the person who has my car now cannot legally own it, but I don't know who has it and my 'friend' won't say where it is or who he sold it to. Its completely disappeared.
It could be in Melbourne, in fact it could be anywhere... that's the problem!!
I'd love for someone to stuff up and get a speeding ticket!! I don't care!! Anything to find out where it is!!
He refuses to give me any information on who he sold it to, its still registered in my name and HDT still have me as the owner, if anyone was to try to transfer it into their name I would be informed as all the numbers etc of the car have been flagged as stolen.
Somehow I have a feeling busting kneecaps is not going to help at this stage. At the same time I wouldn't have thought a friend of 10 years would do this either... especially waiting until I was really ill to rip me off!!
As far as I know it still has the QWS-712 plates, thats what it is still registered under anyway, but who knows!!
It was kept in the Maiden Gully/ Marong area.
I think that covered everyone, thank-you so much for your interest, and if you are on facebook join my page and invite your friends. Thanks again folks.

You cannot sell something you do not own so it is theft (the wording is different tho, profiting from stolen goods or something). If the person who had the car wanted it removed, he has to contact the owner (and i'm sure this wouldn't have happened)

I became ill 2 years ago and couldn't work (still can't) I came to an agreement with someone I thought was a close friend of mine, that he would purchase the Brock from me for a tiny amount so I could cover health costs. Once he had paid me all the money we had agreed on I would transfer the car into his name so he could have it covered for insurance purposes. At the time I was under the impression I would only be unwell for a short period and just needed somewhere to keep the car so it was safe and out of the weather until I could get back to work and get my own place again. When that happened I was to buy my car back for the same value plus any expenses and all would be great. This is where it gets complicated. Without telling you my medical history, I have been unwell for longer than expected, my 'friend' did not pay the full amount agreed upon for the car (he gave me $500, its worth a shitload more than that!!) which means I never transferred the vehicle into his name. HE DOES NOT OWN IT. He then got himself into financial trouble and sold the car to someone (he refuses to say who) to save his house. Keep in mind, the car is still registered in my name with VicRoads and HDT. He then lies about having it in his possession for up to 12 months and continues to promise me money (I was not able to check on the car due to my illness, and well the guy was a mate for 10 years, I didn't expect anything like this to happen) Recently he admitted to me that he had sold it to get out of trouble when I eventually put my foot down because he still hadn't paid me or returned the car as requested. Of course the first thing I did was go to the police... they refuse to help at this stage citing it is a civil case and the only thing I can do is sue for the rest of my money or if I know who has the car I can have it taken off them legally because I did not sign the rights of the car over to them. I have since obtained legal advice and found this is not the case and I am putting into place legal representation to go to the police for me so the bastard will be charged and hopefully my car returned. Lets face it, if the police can avoid paperwork they will, especially if its a 'hoon' type of car. They brushed me off as a dumb chick, I hope to prove them very wrong!!!!
So there you have it, the full story, I also eat wheatbix for breakfast and my jocks are black today... ;-)
Knowing that. Report the car stolen (because thats what it is, in the hands of someone who doesn't have permission to use it) and it will be returned to you. Give him his $500 back, and let the person who bought it off of him take him to court (and thats a case of stupid people and their money being parted, if it was clear the car wasn't his to sell, no-one in their right mind would hand over money)
I dont really want to get into why a chick is wearing jocks![]()

I can't imagine there's much of a chance of it showing up somewhere around Bundaberg, but I'll keep an eye out anyway. Hope you get it back in one piece.
FYI the Vicroads vehicle status check come up with no response, which typically means it is no longer registered in Victoria. I would give the "mate" back his $500 bux and report it stolen, without a contract of sale he has no leg to stand on, and the person who he sold it to has no right to own the vehicle. Reporting it stolen will mean if ever the new owner gets pulled over he will get a rude shock (in Vic anyways).

This is very sad news, best of luck tracking it down, and yeah legally you do have a leg to stand on, but then there is the task of finding the car itself
Not meaning to rain on any ones parade... but,
If this thing was "sold" upto twelve months ago, whats makes any one think its still in one peice?
Good luck to the O/P, hope you find it and it all works out ok for you - I'd still be smashing his kneecaps if no good comes out of it all![]()
Im not one for violence, but since its a Brock, id start with stand overs. You will get all the info you need with them. Hell if it helps take some of their shit to!
With great cars, comes great drivers.
this is not cool. what car has he got???
Experience is a hard teacher. First you get the test, then you get the lesson.
As the police arent doing anything, your best bet is to take civil action.
He has committed the tort of conversion, bit of info here.
Probably not gonna get the car back, but might get you the money for it/a bit of inconvenience money.
