Exhaust leak... catalytic convertor back?

Hey all,

Had my car serviced and they have said... "Exhaust muffler boxes are worn out, recommend replacing exhaust system from the catalytic convertor back"

So what does that mean? What do i need to replace? how much $$ am i up for?

Can anyone recommend what i should get? car is a VTII v6 auto

Hey there mate,
Basically what that means is that from the cat converter, (little box looking thing toward the front of the car) and all the way to the rear of the car. Its a simple job, cheaper if you source the exhaust yourself. I recently replaced the exact same parts as you, bought the exhaust for $230 posted and fitted it myself as I had access to a hoist. If your not able to fit it yourself, best probably to call a exhaust shop and ask. The one I bought however was a better exhaust (2.5") and is alot louder than stock. Depends what your after really. i see. so i see these 2.5" redback cat back exhuasts etc.. this is what im after? is there anything additional i need?
