Default lack of manual VY - VZ commodores, whats the go..

    Whats the go...
I am looking to buy a 6 cylinder VY or VZ and i want a manual, but there is hardly any. Did they only make a limited few? and did they make any manual supercharged models, or are they just all autos?
I dont understand, do the majority of people only want autos? or something

It's fairly hard to find manuals out there, hell I looked for 6+ months before I found the right one.

    All supercharged V6's were auto.

Something will popup sooner or later, just a matter of being patient I found.

They are about, but as darren said you may need to be patient. You'll find a fair few V8 manuals but not many V6 ones, mainly autos.

you will struggle to find a VY manual, but there out there
there is alot of VZ manuals getting around, everyone got excited over the new 6 speed so quite a few where sold, but thats only the SV6 and ute, pretty sure the exec wasnt avaible in manual

Is it a decent gearbox? How are they as a solid car? and do people have many problems with them?

(kinda new to all this since this will be the first car i buy myself, so any help would be appreciated (: )

    Cheers.

ive owned a manual and auto SV6, and the manual was so much better, i found the gearbox pretty good, a little notchy but at least you know its going in gear,, oh and alot more fun to drive, never had a problem with any of the cars,

but like all cars you do get your stories of stuff going wrong, but there is no real comon problem that you need to avoid

    I've got a manual vy exec v6.

Let me say, the gearbox, is... interesting :P.

It's a fun car to drive though, i snatched it up the first day i saw it come into Melbourne cheapest cars.

Cars done about 181k and i just had to replace the clutch.
