VY S V8 ute??

Hey guys,

Just a quick general question.. I'm looking into buying a VY "S" ute.

But a recent discovery has stumped me, at a car dealership in Homebush, the salesman is advertising a VY S ute, with automatic trans and an LS1, (5.7 Litre V8)

Im just wondering whether this was a factory option when the cars were bought new, OR, in fact, this car has had a motor change?

If this was a factory option, I have no problem in buying the car, but I would be very hesitant in buying a car with a motor change, from a caryard.

id say its missing an s. but someone who knows something might be handy.

i no there was 150 VP SS's made with V6's just for racing and production numbers.

maybe its another one of those things?

but id say the dealer has forgotten the extra S

It doesnt have the typical "SS" front bumper with fog lamps etc, or the "SS" badges though?

Milky, the VY S ute did come factory with an LS1 V8. The series 1 had a 225kw plant and the series 2 had a 235kw plant.

Well, there you go. Learn something new everyday. You could also just check the vin/engine numbers and ask Holden yourself.
