Default Opel Senator vs Holden Commodore

    Greetings from Estonian senator club!

I have a question about the differences in Commodores and Opel Senator B suspension. Does anyone have some drawings to the commodores (VP...VS) front and rear IRS suspension? Because I did`nt find nothing on the web. I can then compare them with Senators drawings and see what differences do they have. I am maybe interested of buying Whitelines swaybars or urethan bushes from some other australian maker. Because they don`t make nothing in Europe for Senators.

    Many thanks! Kaido

Pretty certain that most Commodore gear won't fit the Opel. While they do look very similar the Opel chassis is a couple of inches narrower. While there are other minor cosmetic differences, I would say the narrower chassis will cause you issues.

Well, that was my last idea to modify the parts by my self or to let make them by someone if I don`t find nothing on the market. But I think it`s not a big problem if the senator is a little bit narrower if the swaybars are similar and the installation points are more or less the same then it can be fit there. I have a senators front suspension drawing here http://web.zone.ee/ea02/front.JPG and rear one here http://web.zone.ee/ea02/rear.JPG if someone can give me similar drawings to commodores suspension I`ll be very thankful!

I think that you will be better looking for another solution as the supension designs (from the pictures) between your Senator B and VN-VS are quite different. The VN-VS are built on a stretched version of the floorpan of the previous VB-VL - = Senator A + mods - with a new design on the front with the VR-VS. The IRS control arms look similar to the VP(VQ)-VS but the Holden's didn't get the toe control link until VX (which have a different design of semi-trailing arm).

e.g.: On the front the ARB link ends are turned 90 degrees - not an insumountable problem but that would suggest that they aren't going to be a straight swap.

I have a VN-VP front ARB floating around which I can measure for you if you wish - one for a live axle rear only though. I think that they are the same dimensions as the VR-VS anyway.

Thank you Cheap6, that was helpful I think I can use some other Opel models swaybars and modify them to get more stiffer bars.
