Alright heres the issue.
My mate has a Ford ED or EB (don't know squat about fords). He bought it about 5 months ago and its been sitting in the shed the whole time, he started it every second day and takes care of it. He just doesn't want to register it yet.
We went for a quick drive yesterday but we didn't notice it had no fuel. As we got home it was just running on fumes. Chucked $20 in it today and now it wont start at all.
Checked the fuel pump and its working fine, checked the spark and thats all fine.
It kicks over but just wont start and we wouldn't have a clue why.
Every time he cracks it and kicks the car i just say... "wouldn't have this trouble with a Holden" and that just makes him crack it that extra bit lol.
So yeah, any ideas on what it might be guys?
Cheers
burn it lol
fuel pump maybe? fuel filter dirty/blocked?
Time to pull out the fuel pump.
Are we there yet?
The thing is i was thinking fuel pump also but i disconnected it from the fuel rail and kicked it over. Fuel was coming out fine. Taking the fuel pump out today anyway to sus it all out.
LMAO!
Maxxiz, as soon as i showed my mate what you wrote. All he did was nod lol.
Changed the fuel filter and now it all starts fine. Took it for a quick drive again and now the engine makes a grinding noise and the exhaust it making a loud rattle lol.
Thats ford for ya.
It could be the starter motor gear not returning fully that is making the grinding and rattling noise. Had the same problem with an EL box of puss that a mate got cheap and wanted me to fix up.
hes not retarded, just very very low on money lol
