Default Car wont start, but its not a holden.

    Alright heres the issue.

My mate has a Ford ED or EB (don't know squat about fords). He bought it about 5 months ago and its been sitting in the shed the whole time, he started it every second day and takes care of it. He just doesn't want to register it yet.

We went for a quick drive yesterday but we didn't notice it had no fuel. As we got home it was just running on fumes. Chucked $20 in it today and now it wont start at all.

Checked the fuel pump and its working fine, checked the spark and thats all fine.
It kicks over but just wont start and we wouldn't have a clue why.

Every time he cracks it and kicks the car i just say... "wouldn't have this trouble with a Holden" and that just makes him crack it that extra bit lol.

So yeah, any ideas on what it might be guys?

    Cheers

youve probly clogged the pump / filter with crap when it ran dry, if the petrol was sitting long enough itd probly sucked in alot of crap.

Changed the fuel filter and now it all starts fine. Took it for a quick drive again and now the engine makes a grinding noise and the exhaust it making a loud rattle lol.

It could be the starter motor gear not returning fully that is making the grinding and rattling noise. Had the same problem with an EL box of puss that a mate got cheap and wanted me to fix up.

Sorry, but is your friend retarded? Why would you drive an unregistered car? It's asking for trouble.

Even more reason then to stay off the roads. If he can't afford rego, how will he pay the fine for driving unregistered?
