    Default blue led parkers? illegal?

hi i got pulled over tonight for the first time since i got my blue led lights put in my car 3 weeks ago and have passed alot of cops during that time. they are not visual lights, i have a VZ calais and there in the little cats eye lights on the side of the low lights in the headlights. a few of my friends have them and never attracted any cops. you can barely see them unless you get really close there not bright at all. any help will be thankful for.. thank you

has anyone ever had the same problem??

ADR states white only, as other colours can relate to emergency vehicles etc, you can be defected for them, or fail roadworthy if the mechanic is picky enough.

Mate, you keep saying "They are hardly visible, you cant see them at all, like I dont see whats wrong??"
Then duh??? Maybe thats the problem, what do you think the point of parkers are?? Not to illuminate infront of you, but illuminate YOU, if you cant see them, may aswell put lollypops in the parker bulb housings.

They are illegal as simple as that mate, you think they look cool or want to rebel against the system then leave them in their, but be prepaird for trouble, $80 on the spot fine and also defect (act that is unsure of other states) and fail roadworthy like has been said. I'm not having a go at you im just letting you know

yeh mate i got pulled over for a random breath test, cops saw them and $180 fine and threatened with defect. Not worth it so i just put in the white led lights in that are the same style as the blue ones

be careful with the white led parkers to, i passed at vic roads with them but i was picking my mum up one night and there was a random breath test about 150mtrs down the road, the cop seen me waiting and actually walked up to where i was just to tell me to get rid of them because they weren't white enough! i then had an argument with him saying you cant get anything whiter than what i had, he then said if they're there next time i see you it'll be a yellow sticker

Hopefully in your case the copper in question was just having a shitty day, IMO they should not be a problem espcially looking at the pic of TVR's white LED globes.

Yeah got defected for them in my VY, blue, I rekon they looked alright, had them in for around 8 months no troubles, then went cruising one night and got done. Haven't put them back in for over two years.

    And yep they're T10's

The general consensus here is that they are illegal however when I purchased blue lights from Autobarn I asked them about the laws (or at least what they thought were the laws) at different stores too. they told me on all occastions that all the colours were fine but not mixing blue and red together. Which means you can't have blue in left and red in right. This would then make you a case of mistaken identity.

Lol @ taking Autobarns word for it No better than SCA employees, the test is the same: "Will you show up to work on time? Yes? I'm sorry, you are overqualified for the position"

You cannot have red lights facing forward on a car at all. They must be rearward facing, and be connected to either taillight or brake light circuit. Parkers must be white.

    Simple as that.

Hi all, im new to the forum, I wont try and hide it, some may not like it, but Im a NSW Cop and whilst many officers dont really care as many have already said it is illegal to have them. Also stated above you can only have white lights facing forwards, or the yellow lights like on trucks, no red lights cause they are tail lights and blue lights are also a no go because as also stated above they are the colours used by emergency services.

Autobarn etc dont care cause many people dont know, they spend their money at the store and after that they couldnt care less
