hi i got pulled over tonight for the first time since i got my blue led lights put in my car 3 weeks ago and have passed alot of cops during that time. they are not visual lights, i have a VZ calais and there in the little cats eye lights on the side of the low lights in the headlights. a few of my friends have them and never attracted any cops. you can barely see them unless you get really close there not bright at all. any help will be thankful for.. thank you

i went to the cop shop and asked and they didnt even know....they are barely visible though i dont see the problem can you have any colour?
yer i got a defect note on them...im going to go see vic roads and then ill change them if need be whats a good cheap globe to put in them if i have to change them i have HID lights in my bottom parkers bit expensive to put them in the little ones aswell. i still want the white look though not the standard light cause i have xenon lights to
Mate, you keep saying "They are hardly visible, you cant see them at all, like I dont see whats wrong??"
Then duh??? Maybe thats the problem, what do you think the point of parkers are?? Not to illuminate infront of you, but illuminate YOU, if you cant see them, may aswell put lollypops in the parker bulb housings.
you can see them but not as good with my lowbeams on it makes it look like blue vision bulbs...
They are illegal as simple as that mate, you think they look cool or want to rebel against the system then leave them in their, but be prepaird for trouble, $80 on the spot fine and also defect (act that is unsure of other states) and fail roadworthy like has been said. I'm not having a go at you im just letting you know![]()
ta mate what blobes do you think i should put in them blue vision to match the xenons??
yeh mate i got pulled over for a random breath test, cops saw them and $180 fine and threatened with defect. Not worth it so i just put in the white led lights in that are the same style as the blue ones
be careful with the white led parkers to, i passed at vic roads with them but i was picking my mum up one night and there was a random breath test about 150mtrs down the road, the cop seen me waiting and actually walked up to where i was just to tell me to get rid of them because they weren't white enough! i then had an argument with him saying you cant get anything whiter than what i had, he then said if they're there next time i see you it'll be a yellow sticker
he wasn't a very nice cop and it wasn't the first time we had words, the first time was over blue parkers and some other small defects
yeh cops just told me they had to be white and nothing else so too white is a weird comment!
Get some white led'spretty sure there t10's and will set you back about $2 each I think....... White as ****
Also, only ever get white one's..... Any other colors are illegal and not to mention look insanely shit and homo![]()
Yeah got defected for them in my VY, blue, I rekon they looked alright, had them in for around 8 months no troubles, then went cruising one night and got done. Haven't put them back in for over two years.
And yep they're T10's
A mate of mine got done with blue LEDs. Just get some white ones off eBay. I had them in my VZ.
(Not my old ute, but it was exactly the same)

The general consensus here is that they are illegal however when I purchased blue lights from Autobarn I asked them about the laws (or at least what they thought were the laws) at different stores too. they told me on all occastions that all the colours were fine but not mixing blue and red together. Which means you can't have blue in left and red in right. This would then make you a case of mistaken identity.
If you are really worried, it is best to get the info from the horse's mouth and or to play it safe.
lol autobarn are not the horses mouth.
"A life lived in fear is a life half lived"
Yeah autopro also told me their not illegal, but here in the ACT its an $80 on the spot defect
Lol @ taking Autobarns word for itNo better than SCA employees, the test is the same: "Will you show up to work on time? Yes? I'm sorry, you are overqualified for the position"
You cannot have red lights facing forward on a car at all. They must be rearward facing, and be connected to either taillight or brake light circuit. Parkers must be white.
Simple as that.
while autobarn and others may say its ok try telling it to the cop who is fining you for it....... imo not work the risk just get some white parkers
Hi all, im new to the forum, I wont try and hide it, some may not like it, but Im a NSW Cop and whilst many officers dont really care as many have already said it is illegal to have them. Also stated above you can only have white lights facing forwards, or the yellow lights like on trucks, no red lights cause they are tail lights and blue lights are also a no go because as also stated above they are the colours used by emergency services.
Autobarn etc dont care cause many people dont know, they spend their money at the store and after that they couldnt care less
