I've been a big believer for a long time in spray-on wheel cleaners. Used to be a fan of Maguires Hot Rims, then I think Maguires made (for a short time) an Acid formulated product, which was fantastic. I've recently been a massive fan of Sonax wheel cleaner for some time, however, it was recommended on another forum to use a product called "Power Wheel Cleaner" made by a company called Final Inspection Final Inspection - Auto Detailing . I ordered some of this stuff in the 500ml bottle, recieved it today, I'll be definately giving it a shot tonight. From the reviews I've seen, it's magic on wheels.
Please; no comments about "if you wash your car regularly you wont need it" - I do 120km round trip DAILY for work, and I have the VQ Statesman rims (lots of little holes!) It gets very tiring having to clean the wheels with a polish/rag twice/thrice a week!
SO..
I've given Power Wheel Cleaner a try, and I must say, it's the best stuff I've ever used on a wheel before. My first 'pass' I never used any agitation at all, no brush, no cloths, simply sprayed the solution on, and within a few minutes got the high pressure hose onto it. After a weekend of cruising around I ran a few other washes over the car, using the PWC, I resorted on one wheel to using a simple rag, and it got rid of the grit with ease. After a few days of going back and forth to work, and brake dust and general shit on the wheels, I just went to the carwash and gave the car a quick spray to get rid of the dust, and sprayed the wheels (without PWC) and it got rid of the dust with absolute ease, my guess is the product has some sort of description of sealant/protectant in it.
This is after the first wash, no agitation:
This is pretty much the best the wheels have ever looked, without sitting there scrubbing the wheels, or attempting to polish them
Been using PWC for a looooooong time and yeah it is awesome stuff. As is all of Damian's gear. Trent did you get the foamer attachment? GPC PPBS and Seal are all highlights!![]()
Nah I didn't mate, I got Gloss Boost, from what I understand it's an after-wash kind of waterless colour booster? Yeah only just heard about the stuff, and understood it wasn't exactly commercial lol.
Boost is a quick detailer. So use it after you've washed and dried. One squirt per panel will do it. Also PWC doesn't have any sealants.
