Green sunglasses holder/lower dash bits...Air-con and assorted engine bay parts.
PM with any info.
Yeah, if i recall Top Gear interviewed one in the previous series and really quite liked it. The Opel/Vauxhall cars really are quite a decent product, I'd really like to know why Holden ditched them for Daewoos. :-/
its even right hand drive so be an easy import hmmm wonder if its done yet and yeah it is a nice looking car
ok i take it back after looking at a few pics of one on ebay interior is just yuk and not to mention the ass of the thing :P

also look at the steering wheel of the one on ebay looks very similar to the ones they have on the ve hmmmm
The Insignia is a such a nice car, especially the OPC/VXR version. I really do wonder why Holden don't offer it - they could then compete with more prestigious cars like VW Passats etc.
they are a great looking car in real life, same with the new astra(the 2 door should look 10 times better), even the corsa(barina) looks better,
i have not seen too many Insignia VXRs getting about, but alot of the lower spec models
dont now why holden wont bring it over, turbo v6 AWD sounds good to me
Holden stopped importing the Euro cars simply because of their cost. Around 2002/03, the exchange rate between the Aussie dollar and the Pound was so bad that Holden could not have sold the Astra/Vectra/Barina at the comparitively low prices they needed to remain competitive within their respective market segments. They were trying to sell them in markets where cheap Korean crap was dominant, particularly in the Barina's market, where $13990 drive away was the norm. Daewoo was the Korean arm of GM and they had a range of cars that could filll the various market segments in place of the Euro's, so that's what we ended up with. Unfortunately, every one of them has been substantially substandard compared to the Euro's they replaced. The last TS Astras were actually manufactured in Poland, I think, which enabled them to be marketed competitively in Aus until stock was exhausted, whereas they had previously been built in Belgium, which has much higher labour costs.
Even though the current exchange rate is much more favourable to us than it was a few years ago, the Vauxhall range would stilll be uncompetitive in the Australian market. The features Australians want in their cars means that the imported models would be loaded with equipment that would make them too expensive to try to sell here. In fact, even the last Vectras were too expensive and too close to the Commodores in price. They did not sell very well, despite being good cars. The Cruze is a much newer product than the old Daewoo crap, is more competitive on our market and has a substantial amount of Holden engineering and design incorporated into it. When Australian production commences, the local input will be further improved and some of the more obvious faults will be addressed.
The steering wheel design is pretty much a commoon theme throughout the GM range at present, so the VE follows that pattern. If you look at pics of the interiors of current Chevs, Buicks, Vauxhalls, Holdens etc, you will notice a distinct commonality with steering wheel and dashboard features. (including lots of cheap silver painted plastics.)
We have this model in Greece and everyday I admire it!!!
i think i read last year that hsv was looking at putting the Insignia engine/driveline into the cruze but later crossed the idea off saying it would cost to much or something
Sorry guys but it just don't do it for me- YUK!
'Ah well, I suppose it had to come to this.'
I love the remarkable similarities to these cars and what was put to us as the new Holden "Torana"
