Ok, I know many of you HATE the white lettering on tyres.... Anyhow, I don't mind it and was wondering if anyone knows of a paint type that will work well? I tried some good quality acrylic house paint yesterday, after roughing up the lettering with sand paper, but it didn't stick very well. Anyone here work somewhere that does it and can give some tips? Or have any of you done it yourselves successfully? Only after information, not opinions on whether or not it should be done....Cheers

there is probably some sort of paint specifically designed for it. I think I remember a paint pen many years ago which was designed to paint lettering on tyres.
Failing that, if it were me, I'd go to a hobby shop and buy some white 'polycarbonate' paint. It's the paint we used to use on the polycarbonate bodies of the R/C cars. The paint is designed to flex with the body without cracking. I'd imagine a similar property would be handy when painting car tyres. It can take a fair bit of punishment too.
Ok thanks Darren. A search turned up a "uni posca" pen that may work, just after a few thoughts before I go to the hassel of doing it again!

news agents have paint pens , that can write on like rubber and that , i brought one ages ago to write on basketballs and such, so i reckon they would stick for a bit on tyres
