    Default Is this any good?

7" GPS + 10 GB + *HD LCD* + WIRELESS REVERSING CAMERA - eBay, GPS, Electronics. (end time 01-Aug-10 12:52:46 AEST)

so i've just bought that item koz it was goin for a decent price and comes with a reverse camera and seemed like a pretty good deal.

what do you guys think about this? im abit worried about the fact i can't find a brand name or anything about it besides what's shown on the site there.

what about software updates and things like that? are there sites that have like a universal software for gps's?

what about the reverse camera...because my car is a ute, and the number plate is on the left side, im thinking about centralising my numberplate..good idea or not really?

    thanks everyone

yea i kinda wanted the reverse camera, when im reversing the ute into a tight car spot, it can be hard to see over the hard top some times, you'd be getting pretty close to a hatchback behind you and have no idea where the front of that car went..ya just gotta hope ya don't hit it haha...chinese brand, american brand, german brand..who cares, everything's still made in china haha, well not everything..i know i wasn't:P
so tomtom can provide maps for these?

Personally, I'd just buy reverse sensors, they work a treat. Most cars can be easily fitted with these.

they come in useful in the work cars with the cages in the back that completely block vision.

Not sure how they go on other cars but on the Pajero and the Hyundai I-Load the can get upset when backing into a driveway or something where the drive way angles up. Until the wheels are on the driveway and you are up it the beeper goes off because its picking up the drive way because its angles upward.

But for the most part they are pretty good.

ah man, im usually on this site 16 hours a day haha:P, couldn't get to my computer, had to do some jobs for my brother..ahh well..i was lookin at reverse sensors, however, with a ute and the back bumper, i wasn't so sure it could be done seeing as though the side of the back bumper stick out and there's reccesses and things all over the place so i thought it may have been abit hard to mount those sensors without distance problems (eg, centre sensors may pick up something behind me that im trying to get close to(parked car etc) and the sides at the back may hit because the centre sensors are picking up and not the side ones...i was looking at the rear bumper infill and mounting sensors there, but i still wouldn't trust holden to do the job...

hence why i got the reverse camera with the gps...ahh well, i should get it within the next coupla days, so i gives ya's all an update on how it goes...oh yea, with the camera, becuase my ute has the number plate is mounted on the left hand side, and this camera looks to be one that goes at the top of the number plate, would the camera see towards the other side of the back bumper, or should i centralise my number plate, or just mount the camera in the centre?

    cheers everyone
