Default Blown Fuse - Easy Fix(?) - Air Cond

    Hey guys

I recently installed a new car battery in my VT S2 Commodore. No problem in doing this. It is well braced and the terminals are on solid.

I noticed driving last night that my air-conditioning compressor is not switching on. The button and LED works fine when pressed in and turns off when pressed out but there is no click that you get when the compressor is switched on.

After I installed the battery I went to start the car and before I turned the key to crank it over (at the 'ON position) I hear a loud snap . I've heard this sound before and its identical to a blown fuse.

So I turned off the car and checked all the fuses in the engine bay and also interior cabin (under the drivers wheel). They are all fine.

Next thought is to test the Air-Con relay. So I switched it with the Horn relay as it is the same spec and it worked fine when I pressed the horn

What do you think it could be?

I read my manual and there is a fuseable wire that is joined to the positive battery terminal. I haven't checked this wire as yet. If that blew then could this be the problem? What would the condition of the wire be?

Dumb founded. Never had this happen with any cars I've owned. The air-con before this work absolutely fine with cold air.

So often with cars you fix one problem to then find another!

    Update

I took the relays out and put my multimeter on the connections 1,2, 3&5 (85, 86, 30, 87). They all show continuity so the connections seem to be okay. I'm thinking potentially my compressor has sh*t itself or at least the compressor switch.

How can I manually bypass the BCM to test if the air con compressor works fine?

I don't know if you guys have seen Scotty Kilmer on Youtube but he is pretty good. Hopefully I won't have to go down this path but what do you think? I don't want to create a seperate switch just for the air-con and would like to leave the factory switch in place.
