The stock brakes will work fine as they are almost identical to the VL anyway. If you wanted to, you can upgrade to slotted rotors and decent pads. I do slotted rotors and high performance pads for $215. The rotors are RDA but are slotted in a special curved "race" style with dimples. The Pads are RDX extreme.
