anyone had any scams sent to them claiming they want to buy the car..ive had txt messages from the UK, dodgy emails, and someone emailing that they couldnt speak cos they work on a ship!!!...sick of these cockheads!!...any similiar stories?
My mate had come across the exact same story! Sounds really familiar. Supposedly the bloke was in the navy and on a ship like you say. He wants a little money wired to a UK account via Paypal so they can release his money or something along those line's.
Stupidest scam ive ever heard of, but id definitly stay away from that one! lol
Fairly common now days sadly. A mate of mine had his moto listed and some random dude added him to MSN and tried to scam him that way. My mate knew exactly what was going on though.
unbeilevable hey!!!...i mean honestly, how the fark do they think they gonna get your car!!??...rang carsales and they dont give a shit cos they got your cashola....anyways
I had a car for sale not too long ago, I received 5 scammers before I got 1 serious buyer.

sold car less than 3 moths ago,
had a guy say he will buy it and i dont need a RWC as he is "shipping abroad" and was gonna get a courier company to pick it up from my house,
all was sounding a little sus but still ok, then he said the courier company he was using wanted western union credit card and he didnt have one, said if he t'fered me the amount of the car plus 900$ to ship it could i pay the shipping company,
from then i said nup, not getting involved, then he sent me a message saying something like "cmon mate id really apriecate it?" and that was it,
after i said no a second time never heard from him, he only got my name and address so nothing too bad, im just lucky i havent had a dead rat nailed to my door or anything HAHA
****ing dogs they are, i was never going to accept extra money
I have had the same thing happen to me every time i advertise on carsale.com,trading post, ebay&gum tree,,watch it because they send you emails over an dover trying to get you to download a virus also..im still getting them now ,the email comes in as EXPRESSION OF INTEREST.dont download it.Its always the same thing on on a oil rig or a ship.you pay my shipping company and i will send you the money,,,they even send a fake email from paypal saying they have your money and will release it once you pay the buyer the shipping fee.. Soo sick of getting emails still even tho i dont have the car for sale anymore and havent for about 6 months.
I had a guy ring the station one shift querying an add on a car site, not sure if it was car sales, but they were selling the car and he was the buyer. She had the Hilux listed on the site with all the info but after speaking with her he got suspicious, she was in northern QLD and the car was in sydney and a whole heap of other suspicious crap.
In the end i did a check on the car and the VIN came up to a Holden Kingswood LOL. Needless to say he reported it to the site and didnt buy the car.
Happened to me when I was trying to sell my VR, UK, shipping companies, paypal.
I said no worries send me cash, ill leave the keys in it for the shipping company once the briefcase gets here lol
Never heard back...
