    Default PTV clearance

The engine i built goes in tommorrow, but i'm still concerned about the PTV clearance. I just checked it again and it's 0.100" on the exhaust and 0.068" on the intake.

I think 0.080" is considered minimum for intake, do you guys think i'd be ok or should i get a thicker head gasket?

Initially i did that, but then i realised later that the lifters weren't primed when i did it so that would give a false reading. The engine is asembled now, so i checked again by removing the valve spring and pushing the valve onto the piston, then measuring the gap between the valve stem and the rocker at the smallest point.

So it 68 thou likely to cause problems? It's not a race or burnout car, but you get the idea.

you need to wind it over while doing it to make sure it never gets closer at different crank angles it should be fine anyway would have to be a huge lift cam to cause issues im sure i mean the buick formula holden motors had 13mm valve lift in the end they did run as high as 16mm LOL

Yes, i did wind it through the 30 degree "danger zone" on both valves. Exhaust got as close as 100 thou and intake as close as 68 thou. I was kind of surprised because it isnt a big cam (similar to a crow stage 3). I guess it's because of the flat tops, decking and shaving.

Can anyone else put my mind at ease? 80 thou is the recommended minimum on the intake. I have 68 thou (call it 70).
