This question may sound rather nieve & "nooby". But someone said something to me about "Dropping D" in the a Commodore. Now of corse I knew roughly what the term ment, Drop Drive. But I wasn't entirely sure why people do it, what do that drop too 3, 2 or 1?
Can someone explain to me exactly why we "Drop D"
Because No brainers who drive an auto think that the only way to get wheelspin and do a standstill burnout is to rev the crap out of it in Neutral and dump/drop it into Drive/D. There's your burnout that will cost you $1k + after ruining your trans.
Yeah, bit like Rollbacks ey?
buy a hi-stall.
Is there any actuall safe and effective way of doing burnouts without ****ing up your trans or engine
On the brake/on the throttle?? haha

well with some older cars you should be able to put in first (auto) and then 1 foot firm on the brake and another on the accelerator and you should be able to do a burnout
^ And say goodbye to your torque converter.

i had a 384 rwhp can once with a worked auto stage 2 kit hi stall the work i always use to reverse out of my mates, put on a show and leave one day he asked if he could go to the shop and i sid yeah he reveresed ou,t i here my motor revving its gut out thought he was being and idiot no good 4300 rpm he went from neatral to 1s,t needless to say the pan and internal where all over the road he wasnt happy when i told him it was going to cost him 5 grand for a new box and to get everything rebuilt
i had been mates with him for 10 years didnt really think he would do it..
The difference is, on a hill start you release the brake as soon as the car wants to move.
You obviously don't let it sit for long you slowly back off the brake. Can we even discuss this...?
I know an easy way, plant your foot!
And if you want a complete standstill get some line lockers.
sorry for hijack but.... when you use the hand breaks... does it break all wheels? lol just a question i had on my mind for ages.
Hit the star under this post if it was any help to you =D
I'm pretyty sure the hand brake locks rears.. thats how front wheels do burnouts
yea jsut the rears...although on some front wheel drive cars i've seen it on the front aswell haha..hmm, imagine the possiilites of a handbrake that locks up the front on a rear wheel drive...just be like a line locker hahaha, that'd do burnouts pretty easy for ya haha...if your doing a burnout just put your foot on the brake , not stomped on it or else the wheels wont spin, just hard enough, then accelerate, and slowly easy off the brake while increasing RPM if you have to...when ya doing the burnout, use as little brakes as possible to a avoid brake pad wear, overheating rotors and less stress on the drivetrain..if ya doin donuts, just turn the wheel whilst rolling and plant ya foot, no doubt in my mind you'll spin that bad boy out
