Default To buy from Holden or not...that is the question

    Hey guys,

Just wanted to get some feedback from you guys as i'm currently in the market for buying a VY-VZ Calais/Berlina/Exec and wasn't sure whether it's worth buying it from a Holden dearlership for the 3yr warranty? Any thoughts guys/gals?

In general, I say the warranties aren't worth paying extra money for. Every dealer tends to use different warranty companies for their second hand cars.
All I can say is read the conditions of the warranty carefully. I worked at a Holden dealer some years ago & all I can say is their second hand car warranty excluded more things than it included and had far too many conditions. I felt sorry for customers who brought their cars back for what they understood would be warranty repairs, only to be knocked back on warranty. People take the warranty without reading the conditions, assuming it will be like a new car warranty. But most are far from it.

Avoid holden like the plague their 3 year used car warranty isnt worth the paper its written on im sad that a tree had to die to produce the paper their warranty was written on. Holden are arseholes and everyone that works at holden is an arsehole from my experience thats my opinion GO PRIVATE.

Yep I would never buy a car from a dealer...... Mine is an ex Government one, which you may be lucky enough to still find a VZ floating around, though probably not. Go private.

I have bought a used car from a dealer before, not holden, but even though it had a 5 year warranty, as soon as I missed a service at the right place it didn't exist anymore. Not worth it, pretty much all they do is give the car a detail anyway.

Save the $3000 or whatever and give the car a detail yourself, then you can service it yourself too if you are so inclined

Thanks for the help guys, guess it's just a matter of shopping around for the right buy. Main reason i was going to go Holden was their cars all look mickey mouse and have low k's etc, don't see many around, even private that have the same kinda k's/body etc for the same price as Holden, That's in Vic anyway lol everything nice i find seems to be bloody interstate

Wait so if you miss a service you automatically void the warranty? :S Also when they say 3year or 175000KM warranty, does that mean if the car is on 110000k's for example that your only covered up to the 175000k mark or for 175000k's on top. Holden dealers seem to dodge around the question without properly answering is all
