I've just finished breaking in the cam on a new ecotec engine, but when i went to let it idle, it idled at 2000 RPM and stayed there. The engine seems pretty smooth, but obviously it's too high. Is this normal for an untuned engine or is it indicative of another problem?
Have you checked the throttle screw and also that the throttle cable is clipped on correctly ? when i removed my throttle body and stuck it back on, i did not clip on the cable correctly and cause it to rev at about 2k. Checked for error codes also?
Yerp what Edals said is what happened to my mates when we started it up after engine swap.
and check for vacuam leaks
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
IAC was jammed, idles at 800 now. But some of the vac hoses are also split so i'll have to fix them. Problem is all the ones from the wreckers just break upon removal.
Cheers guys.
