Well i lost hte passion for the vt calais. was enjoying modding her up, had the body kit ready to go a few weekends full of jobs to do to her looked great.

Then got rear ended by a ***** on south rd about 4 weeks ago. While waiting for his insurance to pay up to fix my rear bumper (minimal damage but still is horrible to look at) weekend after weekend have gone by with me not being able to do anything to her.

Just lost the will figured i'd just do the interior stuff which was 85% done... was just gonna amp connect the speakers to sup them up more... do the second amp in the back and pickout a subwoofer. But no... I look at her parked across from the work and i see those marks on the back and i cringe.

And yes i tried parking it the other way and.... its just not the same... the guy wrecked my baby for me.

So this morning I decided to sell her. I havnt decided what im replacing her with.... like all kids my dream car for the last 5 years has been a skyline and I plan on picking up a GTR35 one day but im not making that kind of money yet, but im doing pretty well.

When I had to get rid of my VR and upgrade i didnt have the cash to think about skylines, after starting the career im in atm i didnt really know about car life spans and stuff and thats the joy of the automotive industry.... because of all the idiots I have come into work I know your pretty hard pressed to find a decent skyline anymore... but this morning woke up to find a mates neighbour in VIC is selling his R34 Turbo with only 84,000 km's on the clock.

im not saying how much Igot my calais for but had the exhaust done, high flow cats installed and was meant to be doing the extractors last week.. but she's only an ecotech 3800 she can only do so much.


Seeing as I can sell her from anywhere from 5-6 grand im looking at spending a budget of $12,000 max on my next car and was wondering what all the exhaulted intellectuals on here had to say to look out for with current skylines, technical issues etc.. comparing them to commodores I can get around the same price.

I had thought about getting an SS or v8 calais but a v8 model of the calais I have atm can still cost most of what im planning to spend at the moment anyway and have a pile of km on it.
