Hi,
I have a 2001 Statesman that will not start after it has been parked facing uphill.
It has a new battery
The security system seems to be disarmed.
All it will do is crank over but will not start. I need to get it to flat graoung and leave it for a while before it will start again. Does anyone have any ideas of where I should start looking.
I should add that it is V6 Supercharged
stupid question but how much fuel is in it?
When this has happened it has over 1/2 a tank on both ocassions
It's a fair bet that fuel starvation is the cause. Possible causes in order of likelihood (excluding low fuel level) could be 1. Weak fuel pump, 2. blocked strainer in the tank, 3. broken or damaged pick up pipe in the tank, 4. partial blockage of fuel lines, or 5. combination of two or more faults listed. If it has been parked on level ground for some time (say overnight), does it start readily?
Yes it starts well on level ground
