    Default Diff fallen out

On the way to work i was driving and all of a suddern i head a mass bang when i was turning a round about , then the car wouldnt drive to well by this I mean it still could drive forward but not to fast.
only like around 1st gear or so .
So im thinking great ive blown my tranny or something. anyways when it got a bit lighter i had a look and couldnt really see anything under the car on the gear box leaking or what ever / nothing missing

, had a look down the other end. and one of the axles has fallen out of the diff housing hub gahhhhhh

anyways since i have an lsd i thought id have a go at moving the car , put it in and first and it moved like about half a meter then no more (it was parked half on a gutter too) in reverse it didnt move at all just revved .

So my question today is . with an LSD will 1 wheel spinning would it be strong enough to move the car as i did in my test or am i dreaming and my tranny is blown and as a result the axle has jumped out lol

so you axle... just .. fell out?

i would guess your trans is ok. i would guess your diff is fragged. easy test, get a innocent bystander to put it in gear and see if the tailshaft moves.

    you axle just fell out?!?!?

My brother was driving a Ford sedan one day for work, fairly recent model, 04 or 05 or something like that, and the whole diff centre fell out. He said he nearly shat a brick when he had a look.

So the drive shaft inner came completely off?
From memory its on a little spigot, make sure that is free of burrs etc before re-installing.
If you use a torque wrench and the correct tightening sequence, things rarely 'come undone' unless there is an underlying issue.
But if you feel you must use a locking compound, then go ahead.

Fark! Your either lucky as hell for having no damage as a result or dam unlucky to somehow dismantle your car whilst driving.

I might unleash the torque wrench on Vr this weekend just to be safe!
