    Default Automotive "Jacks"

    Yo,

Just wondering. Looking at changing tyres on my car myself next week. Whats the best way to hold the car up to do it?

Like I don't want to use 4 jacks, I don't see that being too safe, where can I purchase something of this like

Get some car stands, get 2 of them at least, jack the car up and place a stand underneath the car at a strong point, ie cross-member on each side of the car and lower the car till it is sitting on the stands. Give the car a good shove to make sure all is o.k. and repeat on the rear.

Any auto place will have them, repco, super crap and the like and are well worth it if you are looking into maintaining your own car.

Jack one corner up at a time. Factory jack is OK.

Yeah, simple rim swap. But, that being said, I do plan on doing work to it in the future so it sounds like these car stands are a good investment.

Lol, I think the V8 supercar comment still stands. Jacking all 4 at once to change rims :/ you don't need to buy anything, just use the factory jack and change one at a time.. ?

DO NOT BUY AN ELECETRIC SCISSOR JACK FROM AUTOBAHN

I brought one in the arvo used it at night then used it twice the drags, the second time it breaks while the wheel is off the car cause it to dorp on the ground without a rear tyre on.
I am now trying to get money out of them to pay for the damages that it caused to my car.
