hi guys, i'm looking at installing an electric aerial into my vs which is currently just a manual antenna. has anyone else done this and are able to give words of advice on the matter? cheers
its pretty easy to do urself....
take wheel off
take inner arch cover off
pull old aerial out
put new motorised one in - and hook up antenna cable
run a coupla wires for earth and power thru to the back of the headunit
put cover back on and wheel back on
earth wire to earth and power wire (depending on factory or aftermarket headunit) to acc or aerieal remote (on some units)
actually u dont need to take the wheel off but helps with some elbow room etc
Theres plenty of options depending how you want to do it....you can fit it up so it has the 2 buttons in the console for up and down.if you use the supercrap one I think it might have the setup to switch the motor to drive it to the desired position without using another module...if you use the factory antenna you need the separate module to time and switch the power for it. I put a switch in the glovebox as well so I it doesnt go up and down(and wear everything out) all the time.
