Here is a comparison of the cost I found for parts for re-building a blue 3.3:

Rebuild kit consists of pistons, rings, bearings (main, conrod, cam), full gasket kit.

    Super Cheap LL
    --------------
    Tot rebuild kit 443.89
    Oil Pump kit 53
    Fuel Pump 70
    Water Pump 50
    Timing Gear Kit 65.76
    CAM 255
    Lifters 51 55.2
    Harmonic Bal 22

    Total 1010.65

    Autopro BP
    ----------
    Tot rebuild kit 466.95
    Oil Pump kit 145
    Fuel Pump 76.55
    Water Pump 35.95
    Timing Gear Kit 75.45
    CAM 165
    Lifters 55.2
    Harmonic Bal 23.25

    Total 1043.35

    Autobarn (Moss St)
    ------------------
    Tot rebuild kit 507
    Oil Pump kit 160
    Fuel Pump 70
    Water Pump 50
    Timing Gear Kit 100
    CAM 149
    Lifters 72
    Harmonic Bal 22

    Total 1130

    Lee's Spare Parts
    -----------------
    Tot rebuild kit 400
    Oil Pump kit 22
    Fuel Pump 60
    Water Pump 41
    Timing Gear Kit 100
    CAM & Lifters 156
    Harmonic Bal 25

    Total 804

    Cheapest from each
    ------------------
Tot rebuild kit 400 (ACL - 350 for cheaper brand)
    Oil Pump kit 22
    Fuel Pump 60
    Water Pump 35.95
    Timing Gear Kit 65.76
    CAM & Lifters 156
    Harmonic Bal 22

    Total 761.71

And then there is the machining on top of that plus hoses etc.

The cheapest guy is Lee's Spare Parts at http://www.performanceparts.com.au/store.html . He does mail order throughout Australia and sells name brand parts. Most the above stuff is Goss and ACL.
