First of all, obviously this mainly comes down to personal preference.
And i am not trying to start an argument of "which is better", as obviously it is subject to the car, engine, desire of performance and again personal preference.
Though for a long time i have had the understanding that on paper, a twin turbo setup is best for (most) cars with a V6 or V8 set up, as the v engines have two exhuast manifolds, one turbo fitted to each so that the engine is fed by both. Ultimately you use smaller turbo's (due to there being 2 of them) which reduces throttle loss in throttle response.
On straight 6 or 8 cylinder engines there is only one exhaust manifold, therefor 1 supercharger is usually the best result.
Again, yes it all comes down to personal preference, but i have heard a hell of a lot of contradicting things lately, such as "if its more of a muscle car than a ricer then supercharger, ricers are turbochargers". I won't say exactly who these people are that i am quoting, but surely when it really comes down to performance my theory is right, and they are simply (for lack of better words), obnoxious, closed minded and, well.. idiots.
Guys, post your opinions and experiences here and lets settle this.
Cheers.
Supercharger wont give a rats arse how many exhaust manifolds there are, it has nothing to do with them or wether its in a v,w straight, boxer or rotary for that matter. A turbo well it will need some piping made upfor the exhaust but again it does not matter what sort of engine it is, my V8 runs a single turbo while a mates straight six runs twins..........
well you could just go twin charge and have a supercharger for the low end power and then the turbocharger for when the supercharger starts running out of puff
There is no one better than the other for a certain car. The main difference is how they deliver their power.
