Hi guys, not a holden question, more of a kia, i mean ford question.
My friend next door has a 99 Ford Festiva 1.5L. She came home on thursday stopped the car and then went to go out again and no go. I took the plug lead off and no spark. had the coil tested and it was conducting 10amps, but i have since replaced it anyway.
So far i have put a new Crank Angle Sensor/Ignition module, new coil and new battery (battery was knackered anyway) and I have sanded back the terminals in the dizzy and on the rotor button. Still no spark.
When you pull the lead from the coil off the dizzy and earth it out and crank the motor there is no spark there and the injectors arent ticking or anything either, everything seems to be dead.
Could the ECU be dead? Fuses are all ok. I can get a second hand ECU for about $90 but dont want to go spending much more on hit and miss efforts. My missus pajero, her falcon before that have all done this and it was just a new coil and ignition module that solved the problem. Never had this happen before.

Maybe the starter solenoid? I'm not too sure about cars but my motorbike wouldn't spark one time because of the starter solenoid.
Well a second hand ECU later and its working again
