Hard to sell at the moment. Anyone having same problems?

Had my car on carsales.com.au for a while and not a bite in 6 weeks, even though its priced pretty low. Runout sale killing second hand car market..thanks holden!!!..anyone else having a hard time?

im not, but thats cos im a p-plater looking for a steal buy and got one. $6,500 for a VT-Spack, one owner, mid 40's, upgrading. LOL. gunna be hard for me to sell it though id imagine

I had some trouble selling VZ commodore a good few weeks back, was on for 2 months only stupid calls for me to take my car to them, I threatened them with legal action if they ever made contact with me again.

I am having a hard time buying... Seems no one wants to sell me a VT or VX Wagon; issues with people not getting back to you, people trying to sell dodgy cars, or cars selling without getting a chance to look at them (Dispite the owner(s) saying 10 min earlier they'd had next to no interest). Mmmm!

got 2 cars i'm trying to sell at the moment,both have had stupid offers for them yet i have seen cars in worse condition & higher kms sell for stupid prices. so go figure. one example was a vt berlina with ls1 auto,completely stock,165000km & smashed in the front-sold for $5500??. i was trying to sell the same sort of vehicle,with lower kms,rwc & tastefull mods yet i got stupid offers of 5 grand. another example is a vt 50th anniversary with 220000km,completely stock sold for 5 grand. one i'm selling is exactly the same with only 140000km @ 6 grand. so i dont know what the hell is going on but its definately a mystery & a pee off. i am not looking forward to putting my vx ss up for sale when its finished,cause god know what stupid offers will come in for that.

its nuts...trying to sell is like pulling teeth!!!...oh and i must mention too the dodgy sms's too that i get from phones overseas saying they are interested!!!..go figure...some fark in nigeria probably wanting to swap his donkey for an SS?? ... :-)

I never had a bite on my vz ss on carsales in 4 weeks. Ended up trading it in on the calais and got $500 less for it but didn't have to worry about a roady or anything which was good.

my dad just sold my mums mazda 3 sp23 this weekend, up on car sales for 4 months and this was the first person to come down n see it.
altho the people did first offer 16.5k and i almost walked in to tell em to f off and get back to looking at base model cars for the price... dad has a way of getting what he wants with negotiation and only dropped 1k off his asking price.
just give it time guys and it should get there

haha u think 4 months is bad, it took me about 16 months to sell off my vx Calais ls1 which i just sold last weekend

I had my car up on carsales for 15 months, no offers, kept lowering it every month or so, then I got 4 offers for swaps in a week but still no offers of cash so I ended up swapping it for a car that I reckon is better value.

I really don't think many people have much cash to dispose of these days, and with loans being harder to get for the average person, everyone just seems to want to swap. I had to sell my bike for 2/3s of the price I was asking for otherwise I doubt it would have sold at all.

My advice, If you aren't desperate to sell, keep it up and wait it out, someone will eventually come along, it's not like you have an old car.

I had mine for sale for 8 odd months, and it wasn't through a usual medium it sold. Newsletter through dad's work.

My brother is having the same trouble, wanting to sell the Skyline for a work ute. Been about the same time so he's getting frustrated too. Not much you can do, either drop the -price if you're desperate to sell or wait it out for an undetermined period of time...
