    Default Timing question

G'day, I've been trying to do the timing on a shitbox 88 Telstar (carby). But when I put the timing light on, the marks on the crank pully slowly and continuosly move around 360 degrees?obviously the timing of the motor isn't changing coz it wouldn't run, but the marks are rotating. I've never seen this before? Any ideas? Thanks.

i would guess that the harmonic balencer is stuffed, which would allow the outside pulley turn on the rubber.

I think ur right, as all else seems in order. However the ballancer isn't knocking, and doesn't seem to move wen I yanked on it. Will prob replace it and see how it goes. Looks original.
