More curious then actually interested in doing this,
but could a vy/vz boot go on a vt/vx?
I know the shape of the boots are different but would the boot still seal shut,
I would be interesting to see what it looked like... all opinions welcome...
No it won't fit, no it won't seal and even if you did get it to fit it'd look crap anyway.
Have you even tried placing one on?
just a thought on getting a different looking lip spoiler...
Why don't you put a Volkswagen Beetle Bonnet on while your at it?
Sorry to kill your idea but what on earth made you think that a square boot would look good on a bulbous shaped car with very 'round' lines...
i know changing boots won't look good. i was more interested to whether it would actually change over and still function as a boot.
You could make it fit...you can make anything fit...but will it be appropriate? Will it look good? I think not.
I don't care what it look's like or whether it will be appropriate I was just wondering
if it would fit/function normally being that the vy/vz is basically structurally the same as the vt/vx.
I don't have access or am familiar with vy/vz boot otherwise I wouldn't have asked.
(I'm just thinking outside the square)
Direct swap over? I have serious doubts, due to the angles and general shape.
If you want a lip spoiler, look for a VT HBD spoiler or VT Manta.
EDIT. I have a VZ. Dad has a VT. Realisitcally it won't fit properly or seal correctly

The VZ is here! About time!
To answer the OP's question, I think it should fit since the shells of the car are the same. Only problem i can see you hacing is that you might actually hit the rear quarter panels. Ive seen somebody put a VZ boot on a VT, and replace the quarter panels with VZ ones and it worked. No idea on how much they had to modify.
if you know somebody with a VY/VZ, put cars together, pop boots and compare. They should be the same.
