hey guys.
just after some info regarding aviation fuel. Just wondering what the advantages and disadvantes of running it are.
Cheers

haha pretty sure that will burn all of your fuel components the minute your turn your key onto 'on' and the fuel pump primes.
Advantages - more power
Dissadvantages - Big fine if caught using it on road car.
Man you would want to have a good tuner.

low altitude avgas can give great benifits or can give you shit benifits depending on the blend its made to not evaporate so it doesnt fume in planes at altitude it can burn to slow in road vehicles .its designed to run at one constant rpm so acceleration can be effected but there is gains to be had from it on a high comp engine tuned to suit.we will be running it in all our drag cars just so we can up the timing some more
I tune the oldschool way fear on the passengers face and knuckle colour cant go wrong
tabbacco is still my favorite vegetable
Avgas has lead in it so it could damage your oxygen sensors and cat converters if you are running them. Fuel economy will be worse than running unleaded pump fuel. Your engine will have to be tuned to run on it. When i ran it in my gocart years ago i had to open up the jets in the carby a tad because avgas made it run slightly lean. You can run higher compression with avgas or advance your ignition timing.
or better yet you can put proper 'commercial jet-gas' in it. pure kerosene. have about the same benefits as "av gas"
edit* just noticed "vk sl/executive" so... V8 carby and no cats? if so, i take it back. lean that mofo out and take it for a fang.
i asked my dyno man and he said fuel these days is alot better then say 15 years ago when the octain was like 90 now u are getting fuels like 98 etc and avgas is 100 plus its so expensive, so he said stick to normal hi priemium fuels
working the other way around, I grew up down the road from a bloke who had an old Cessna Skyhawk and ran it on regular leaded fuel. It crashed and he broke his back. From that we all drew that the best fuel was probably the intended fuel..
