ok mate so im not really an expert on older holden motors

so you have your blue, black, red and gray. im not quite sure but i think these are loosely based on years they were made.(can someone clairify this?)

now older holdens had a 3 speed automatic commonly known as a trimatic, they were both floor shift and column shift.

they also had 4 speed manuals which as far as i know were floor and column shift aswell, i think later holden 6s had a 5 speed(not sure)

engines that were 6 cylinder came in various capacity over the years largest being 202 cubic inches. others include 186, 179 and probably a few others im not sure.

    hope that helped a bit.

    Hmm..... I smell a troll.....

I'd learn to use a search engine first (no, not a car part) before you start worrying what parts are what. If you can't find the answers to your above questions on Google, I'd ask your Info Tech teacher at school to go back to computing 101.

A 6/71 is a GM roots type blower (the one that sticks out the bonnet)

what is a crossmember? A crossmember is the part that holds the gearbox into the car, generally goes between the chassis rails.

spnidles? A spindle is what the wheel bolts to, to hold the car off the ground.

four link?? Racing type rear suspension or factory trailing arm type rear suspension (as the name suggests, has 4 links from the diff to the body)

stroker kit? Consists of crank, conrods & pistons. Used to alter the stroke of an engine for more power/torque.

ECU? The entire brains or an EFI (electronic fuel injection) engine.

injectors?? As the name suggests, injects the fuel into and EFI engine.

throttleboddies? Lets air into an EFI engine.

spool? Device used to lock both rear wheels together

rack and pinion? Type of steering, which uses a rack & pinion as apposed to a steering box

H-Beam Rods? A connecting rod in an engine that has a cross section that looks like an H

valvebody? Inside an automatic transmission, the valve body controls the shift/s

converter?? Torque convertor is inbetween the engine and an automatic transmission, multiplies torque and stops the engine from stalling when coming back to idol.

whats is so GOOD about the B&M Pro Stick? Lets you ratchet gears without pulling up a lever

what does a haed gasket do? Seals the cylinder head to the engine block.

whats the Ignition?? Makes the spark to ignite the air/fuel mixture to make an engine run

whats is The Dizzy and the coil and leads? All parts of the ignition system

whats the Inlet? Lets air/fuel mixture in to be ignited by the spark

Diff Ratios? The ratio of the diff, higher the number the faster the car will accelerate but at the sacrifice of some top end, lower the number is the
opposite. I.E 4.11:1 will accelerate faster than 3.08:1

wastegates?? Used on a turbo car to control boost.

catch cans? Lets crankcase vapours out of the engine

T700? 4 speed automatic transmission found in VN onwards Commodores.

    Hope some of that helps.

Very Helpful and will be very useful as im going to get maybe either a One Tonner or a HQ sedan,

uhh witht the ECU, no not the wholde brains, you've answered that question D
    Cheers Mate

what is a crossmember? used to support things for example theres one that holds your gearbox under your car.

spnidles? that part that you wheel hub mounts too.

four link? its a type of suspension, commonly used in drag cars and mini trucks.

stroker kit? increases that stroke( distance between top dead centre and bottom dead centre) of your engine

ECU? basicly its want runs your engine(in a modern car)

injectors? part of an electronic fuel injection system(EFI) injects fuel into your engine. where it is injected is dependant on your EFI set up.

throttleboddies? determines how much air enters manifold(part of an EFI system)

spool? used to lock a differential

rack and pinion? a type of steering rack, most modern cars have this.

H-Beam Rods? a type of connecting rods(the part that goes between the piston and the crank

    valvebody? somebody else answer this

converter for gears? its called a torque converter, its kinda hard to explain

whats is so GOOD about the B&M Pro Stick? i have no idea

but what does a haed gasket do? seals between your engine block and cylinder head.

whats the Ignition? the ignition system are there parts that make your car start and run

whats is The Dizzy and the coil and haeads? the dizzy(distributor) and coil are part of the ignition system, the head is that bit that goes on the the block

whats the Inlet? inlet manifold is where your air or fuel air mixture is divided into the cylinders

Diff Ratios? differential ratios determines top speed, acceleration, a taller diff(smaller number) will give you a better top speed but you will lose out on acceleration the opposite applies when you go for a shorter ratio. keep in mine there are other factors that come into play like gearbox, wheel and tyre size.

wastegates? part of a turbo charger

    catch cans? catch excess fluid

T700? a type of automatic transmission

    pretty sure
three on the tree in reference to having 3 gears on a column shift and
four the the floor is a 4 speed on the floor

basically they are just fun slang terms
whats the difference between my missus and my blower??
well they both whine but the blower actually puts out

Mate, Im in the exact same boat, and it takes years, I'm only just starting to get a grasp of things, I'm only 17 and am Starting an ASBA (look it up if you dont know what it is) and you can start that in year 10. Doing is the best way to learn, get a job somewhere (I worked at Domino's and pizza hut for 2 years), save some money and buy a car..
