hey, well basically i want to take a vid of my car but the stock exhaust doesnt give the right level of sound that i want... so i was planning on taking it off before the cats taking 1 run up the street for a vid.
questions are
1. will this hurt anything internally engine wise.
2. will it sound shit like a whipper snipper.
yes i know it is illegal to run the car without cats if you are going to tell me this please dont its for 1 run and one run only.
and i live in a secluded area and the noise wont be heard by any1 (or faintly in the distance).

They don't sound very good with the standard exhaust dropped at the cats though. Not even very loud.
If you want loud, drop the exhaust at the headers. They're f**k off loud then.

my mate has a ls1 in his cobra
with side pipes sounds tough as

open pipes will cause it to run ever so slightly leaner but 99.9% of the time on anything less than a race tune it'll be tuned rich enough to compensate. If you're worried then add some octane booster when you drop the pipes. otherwise it won't hurt.
i was told octane booster was shit and didnt really do much. but from what you are saying im guessing this is not true ?

Don't touch it.
Causes shit to build up on the back of the valves, which causes hot spots. Which will fug just about anything.
Use the right fuel to begin with and you'll have no drama. You WON'T lean out and cause fatal detonation just driving it with half an exhaust system on it.
It would really help if some people had half an idea prior to commenting.
