Shame on anyone buying cheap tyres. They are the only thing between you and the road and the single biggest bang for buck upgrade.
Lol @ people who spends thousands on exhausts, tunes, rockers, cams etc then put some cheap chinese rubber on.
It isn't just mods, My calais has cost nearly 4K just to fix this year alone, and I simply don't have the money to buy brand tyres this time around, especially when it needs at least 2 K more.I only drive in peak hour most of the time anyways to and from work, I don't think a high performace tyre is going to help me much, Also guess how many accidents I have had using so called cheap types (posatraction, gemstone), a big fat 0.

The Zeetums are great for the money, made by Khumo too.I run these on the rear of my XR6T and are comparible to a Maxxis imo. They are a medium compound tire at the most that offers good traction in the wet.I run Sumitomo Z111's up front though so cant comment on the pointy end.Id imagine they would do the trick.
Fair enough if you genuinely can't afford it, but you only have 18" wheels on your car right? It can't be much more then $200 a corner for a good set.
It isn't a big ask to spend $1000-1500 for a good set of tyres every couple of years.
I've done 1year/10,000kms on a set of Bridgestone RE001s and they are only 10-15% worn. At this rate they should last another 2years until i bin them because the rubber has hardened.
The people who go through a set of tyres every six months, that's not an excuse, they are causing their own problem! Same goes for the people with fully sick 23490812 inch chromies. If you can't afford the tyres then you can't afford to run that size of wheel.
If you're really struggling, pick up a set of 17" wheels, 235/45R17s are dirt cheap. Even 15" stockies with good old Bridgestone RE92s are better then most cheap chinese 18-20" shit.
I got a set of Takumas for free with my 18in rims. They grip like no tomorrow.
