Speed Camera Got Me Good

So I was driving back from the goldcoast last month to the central coast and I had just fitted my new personalised plates for the drive back. Knowing that I was suppose to transfer the plates before I left, to my luck I hit the flash for cash about halfway home. Soooo what happens now. I havent got it in the mail yet, n Iam affraid to go transfer the plates because i was fairly hauling ass....

lol, well, there would be an unreg'd fine in there, along with speeding. in vic driving an unreg'd car is 500 bucks. dunno bout other states. but they will know who you are cos' of the plates transfered or not, the plates are registered to you (individual) regarless of whether they are regd to a car. might take them a while to find you but they will. and when they do itll be a lot worse.

in fact, no. it wont take long cos' they will just look at the address on your licence.

I'd imagine youd you get a fine for displaying "false plates" that are not rego'd to the car...and the speed fine itself lol :P

Wouldn't they just look for who bought the plates? I'd expect 2 fines then.. and maybe a loss of license depending how quick you were going eh.

You can't say that your plates got stolen. If the picture is clear enough, the cops will see that it is your car with the different plates on it. If they dont figure that out then your dam lucky.

You gotta take it on the chin n learn ya lesson. Avoid it and the fines will come tenfold.

Haha yeah I think you'd have a hard time claiming that someone stole the plates and happened to fit them to the exact same kind of car you own. But doesn't hurt to try

So you guys think a double fine hey? Something else I didnt mention was that it was dark and I was overtaking a truck... The camera flashed me just as I was in line with the cab of the truck. Soooo with a bit of luck he got done and not me... Fingers crossed hey

If the truck wasn't speeding but you were, the camera can differentiate. Therefore you will get the fine. I know this as someone flew past me a while back and the camera went off. I knew I wasn't speeding but wondered if I would get fined anyway. So I asked a cop friend of mine and was told I would be ok. Sure enough I never got a fine but the other guy did. (I know he was fined as we were on a cruise and he later said he got the fine in the mail)
