would like to know how to remove a starter motor for a 1988 holden camira and how to access the lower bolt underneath the starter motor please help pp
To remove the lower bolt from a starter motor on a 1988 camira you will need a 17mm hex socket, an extenion bar (300mm or longer) and a breaker bar to break the tension if the bolt is tight. Start by felling around for the lower bolt. Once located come in from the right side of the car (closest to no1 cylinder) with the 17mm socket and extenion. You can use a rachet if the bolt is not too tight but chances are if the starter hasn't been off before it will be tight! Refitting is the reversal of removal. Good luck! PS don't foget the bolts for the support bracket that bolt onto the back of the engine block.
