Stick It To Em Day
PASS THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW BECAUSE THE PRICE OF PETROL IS A JOKE AT THE MOMENT
IT HAS BEEN CALCULATED THAT IF EVERYONE IN AUSTRALIA DID NOT PURCHASE A DROP OF PETROL FOR ONE DAY AND ALL AT THE SAME TIME, THE OIL COMPANIES WOULD CHOKE ON THEIR STOCKPILES. AT THE SAME TIME IT WOULD HIT THE ENTIRE
INDUSTRY WITH A NET LOSS OVER 4.6 BILLION DOLLARS WHICH AFFECTS THE BOTTOM LINES OF THE OIL COMPANIES.
THEREFORE, SEPTEMBER 1st HAS BEEN FORMALLY DECLARED "STICK IT TO THEM " DAY AND THE PEOPLE OF THIS NATION SHOULD NOT BUY A SINGLE DROP OF PETROL THAT DAY.
THE ONLY WAY THIS CAN BE DONE IS IF YOU FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN AND AS QUICKLY AS YOU CAN TO GET THE WORD OUT. WAITING ON THE GOVERNMENT TO STEP IN AND CONTROL THE PRICES IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REDUCTION AND CONTROL IN PRICES THAT THE ARAB NATIONS PROMISED TWO WEEKS AGO ??
REMEMBER ONE THING, NOT ONLY IS THE PRICE OF PETROL GOING UP BUT AT THE SAME TIME AIRLINES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES, TRUCKING COMPANIES ARE FORCED TO RAISE THEIR PRICES WHICH EFFECTS PRICES ON EVERYTHING THAT IS SHIPPED. THINGS LIKE FOOD, CLOTHING, BUILDING SUPPLIES, MEDICAL SUPPLIES ETC.
WHO PAYS IN THE END ??
WE DO !!
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
IF THEY DON'T GET THE MESSAGE AFTER ONE DAY, WE WILL DO IT AGAIN AND AGAIN. SO DO YOUR PART AND SPREAD THE WORD. FORWARD THIS EMAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW. MARK YOUR CALENDARS AND MAKE SEPTEMBER 1ST A DAY THAT THE CITIZENS OF AUSTRALIA "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH"

1 day aint goign to do ****, why dont we all park our cars in the garage pull out the old rusted push bike, burn some fat of our asses and save some money aswell.
That will benefit us in 2 ways and get our point across.

Hate to **** on your parade, but it's another hoax email thing.
The reasoning as to why it wouldn't work is simple...people would still buy the exact same amount of fuel that week, but either "stock up" the day before or wait until the day or two after and fill up. The fuel isn't delivered through a pipeline dircetly from the refinery to the pump, so they would not even notice. The servo operator would probably wonder where the hell everyone was for that day though...
I loved the comment about riding a pushy 45km to work...
We had a real "public transport is god" nut at work once...we shut him up by saying "yeah, we'll take public transport to work, as long as it costs less to run than my car/motorbike/whatever, and picks me up from my door at 5.30 in the morning and also does shift work like we do at odd hours of the day and night".

take a taxi? not as fast or fun but door to door service. and if everyone took taxi's we'd have a buttloan more jobs open for cabbies as they'd get flooded with "hey its 4am and the cab i wanted at 2 isnt here wtf!?"
but still it'd be a change, not get fuel for just one week, that should make atleast a small overstock of petrol giving maybe like 1cent of relief.
