My girlfriend is looking at buying a 1993 Honda Prelude SI on Tuesday, and id like to know what are some things that i should be looking at in regards to condition for this type of car that i can check on the day.
Has anyone had one of these or something similar and knows anything specific to look out for when buying?
It has done roughly 163.000 K's, comes with a RWC and appears to be in immaculate condition.
Its a 4 cylinder multi point injected 2.3L with a VTEC engine, FWD.
Some advice would be great, cheers.

any engine, trans problems, dunno about the car your looking at, sounds like a FWD so check the CV joints for noise, check under the body on the sill edge for clamp down marks, around the engine compartment for any panel beating. look for colour changes in paint. if the engine bay is really clean its probably been pressure washed, and the only reason you would is for oil leaks. if it seems to good to be true, it probably is. oh, check the inside of the tyres for wearing due to bad wheel alignment
*i havent owned one but hondas are pretty good, so id be more concerned about body work. its probably a 4 wheel steer too*
Make sure VTEC kicks in yo.
(sorry, couldn't help myself hahahahaha)
With these check the auto how it shifts make shore it doesn't slip, and check oil leaks, other than that these cars seem pretty good. Just like (illusionalvr) said check the usuall stuff.
as mahoovkv8 mentioned ^^ check auto shifts nicely, the 5th gen preludes had an infamous gearbox design which pretty much ended in failure = big bucks to cost!
if you can get a test drive with the engine cold, you can notice the slips/misses in changes
If it bleeds, we can kill it
be sure to take that cannon off too, dont think she will like driving around with a fart noise lol, other than that man looks pretty smick from the pics
Thanks heaps mate, this will be a big help.
I know the usual things to check out when buying a car but i was wondering if there was anything specific on these types of cars that may require some extra attention, knowing that they are pretty sturdy gives me some confidence.
It was the whole 'car from broadmedows' thing that concerned me the most, lol.
