    Default Holden Vectra over heating !!!

    hey got a holden vectra 98 2ltr and just brought it with a blown head gasket just fixed it all up and got a thermo stat at a wreckers and tested it and put it in because new ones are 120 so yeah but drives fine the temp sits around 80 to 90 but sometimes it goes write up to the red and turn it off for about 5mins and start it up and drive off and temp starts to go down to normal only happened twice in a month and just before hills the fans are working but only kick in about 90 so does anyone knows whats going on !!!!!!!!

    Sounds like an air lock in your cooling system causing the gauge to read high.

    hey figured out how to bleed it but it still over heated the other day going up this hill and hasnt happen for atleast 3 to 4 weeks so got no idea might be the fans but yeah does any one know ?????

    might need to try a radiator specialist. could require a cooling system flush.

    yeah i think im going to drive it of a ciff lol took the thermo stat out now so will see how the bomb goes ,,, so if u see on the news a fella drove his gfs vectra of a ciff its just me ....

    hey more problems with the vectra again. Now while driving along the car somehow goes into neutral and i have to drive the car as if it is a manual but i am unable to drive it in drive i have to drive around in 3rd, around 3 weeks ago we put a new motor in the car plus new wiring harness and it is still getting hot. Any suggestions?
