there is no difference mate, hopefully I'm right but to me they look exactly the same and you can get them in silver of black

the only difference I can think of is stockies are what came with the car and interceptors have been bought from somewhere but at the wreckers
they just call em all interceptors. I assume "stockies" is just slang for em :P

Pretty sure the interceptors are the silver stockies, and the normal stockies are just black.

Dont quote me on it, but im sure someone will correct me if wrong

Apparently Interceptors are the wheels that BT1's/Cop Spec Commodores come out with - apparently their .5 or 1" wider than your standard black 'Stockies'

    Neither here nor there

interceptors i was always told were the police chaser rims, which are 7 inch wide stockys and stockys are the normal 6 inch wide ones, so really the interceptors are better due to the extra inch of wide for grip on the road

Police spec. (and ute) have a slightly different centre section - I can't remember exactly what atm - that retains the 'chrome' centre cap (stops it rattling).

If buying 15" steel rims watch the rim offset - VN/VP ute, standard (from VL-) and VP/VQ IRS are all different. Most should be 43P.

VT- are stamped "HS" for high strength. They are stronger (stamped from thicker steel sheet I think) to allow for the greater weight of the VT- models.

Yeah, what kniever said is as I've always known them.

But the later model utes stuffed the whole interceptor/stockie thing up.
As apparently they came with 7" wide from the factory - something to do with load carry'ing capacity?

Ive got 2 different sets of the chaser type standard rims. Both sets are 6.00 X 15 .But one lot are wavy around the centre hole where the hub goes through it,and the other set of rims, which are on my VS, are just flat in this area. These also look a tiny bit deeper than the wavy centre type ones.

'interceptor' rims are simply a 7 inch version of the 15x6 inch steel wheel released on VL onward. They are commonly referred to as 'interceptors' because they were released as standard issue on BT1 police optioned vehicles. Ute wheels were different again, the wheel was built from a heavier gauge steel.
