Hi,
I have a VS.
I've been having a shudder in my car for a while on take off. Checked diff, shafts, new bushes, new engine mounts, centre bearing etc etc etc.... Now it's upto the transmission that could be causing shudder. I'm trying to get a 4l60-e with low K's as possible so I'm trying to see if I can put one in from a VY or maybe VZ as it had the 4l60-e.
Does anybody know if the connectors/plugs would be the same from VS all the way to VZ, and things like locations for oil pipes, should be same as it's a 4l60-e, only thing i can think of is connectors.
Also the VZ is the bellhousing for the Alloytech but I can re-use my ecotec one.
Thanks guys.
NO you have a 5hhd or 6hhd depending on what year VS it is and you have to put that same coded box back in it,
i think you may be able to put any VR VS box in it but not vt, vy, vz. i am not liable for anything i say but you will have a code on the bellhousing passenger side lift the bonnet check it out can see from the top.
Seems like every single model has their own trans,
Looking at this AC Delco reman transmission page :
http://www.acdelco.com.au/PDFs/Catal...nsmissions.pdf
They all have different codes pretty much. But yet they are all 4l60-e's.
What are the differences, what bits don't actually fit.
I mean I could use Converter, Bellhousing and Trans from a VT Say or VX,
what parts will make it incompatible? only thing i can think of is Plugs.
The numbers do they indicate only internal differences?
Thanks.
Well,
I checked mine and it doesn't look like it's an original transmission.
My car is a 1996 VSII V6 Floor Shift.......... Should have a 6HDD
I've got a 7HLD - From a 1997 VSII Supercharged..... Stronger internals. I do have the 2100kg Towing pack, maybe that is why I have the 7HLD?
As for VT/VX Transmissions, in this thread :
Replacing a 6hdd with a 7hdd.
Appears as their bellhousing went clear the exhaust on the VS, But could you just use the VS Bellhousing
or are the actual bolt holes in DIFFERENT locations on the trans?
Cheers.
